Commonspace, Downtown's first co-living space, was recently featured in an article on Time Magazine's website, exploring the benefits of "intentional communities." The article defines intentional communities as intimate spaces where "a couple dozen apartments or single-family homes" are built around a common space, or central square. The piece explores Commonspace's set-up (which consists of 25 units featuring a platform bed, kitchenette and complete bathroom, surrounding common spaces including a shared chef's kitchen, library, game room, coffee lounge and media room) and draws parallels between similar concepts in Arizona and North Carolina. The article dives into the many ways living in an environment can be a catalyst to build connections among diverse groups of individuals.
