D ear Parents,

Our first ever Ladies Night was held at the Lazy Dog Tavern in Stratford. It was a warm and welcoming fundraising event. The proceeds will go to support the arts and enrichment programs that are scheduled for this school year. We thank everyone who came out to support SCSS. We thank Mr. Niall O'Neill for the use of the restaurant for this event. I am very grateful to all the parents and volunteers that helped to organize the night especially Jena Corsello and Amy Mignone. It was a huge success.

Quote from Pope Francis:

"We don't have to go far or come up with grand projects to be charitable. Often the people closest to us could use our help."

God wants us to live the mission through charitable acts. Our SCSS families are always so charitable and giving in so many ways. You freely give of your time and  support in everything we do and that is so important. I am thankful for all that you do for our school and our children. We help to serve people through our various projects and acts of kindness. We have so much to be thankful for and  it shows in how we share that compassion with others.

Faithfully Yours,

Miss Giaquinto

Tree Removal

For safety reasons
the tree which had been next to the sidewalk leading up to the side entrance of the school was removed.  Its roots were lifting the sidewalk up and making it uneven.  Because it was causing a serious and worsening tripping hazard, the tree had to be cut down. In the Spring, a new tree will be planted in the same general area, but far enough away from the sidewalk that it will not cause similar issues.  We thank everyone for their kind understanding.

Scholastic Book Fair

Last week our Scholastic Book Fair was held in the Church Hall. Thank you to Tracy Ferreira, Sandra Gracia and all the parent volunteers who assisted in bringing this event together for the students.  A portion of the money raised will go to adding books and resources needed for our school Library.

Veterans Day

Mrs. Tkacz and grade 6-8 students
prepared a program for the school community to remember  our veterans. They planned an activity for the classes to do together in groups and learn about why our country celebrates this special day.

Thank you to Mrs. Tkacz for her creativity in teaching the school community about the importance and meaning of duty, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Thank you to Mrs. Derivan for putting together and displaying the Wall of Honor for all of us to see. We appreciate your time and dedication.
