 Is missing Sunday Mass a mortal Sin?
We should first call to mind the importance of the Mass. Each Sunday, and Holy days of obligation, we gather together as a Church with hearts filled with joy to worship Almighty God. We remember and profess our faith in the mystery of our salvation. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, suffered, died, and rose for our salvation. The saving actions of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday's Easter Vigil coalesce in the Holy Sacrifice of one Mass.

 "Open Door" Nurse Visits
This will be a free service open to members of St. Matthias Parish, as well as the greater community of Milwaukee and its' neighbors. Our vision is to be able to welcome ALL of God's people and share His love by caring for others.

- Completing and Advance Directive for health care decisions
- Health Risk Screenings: Depression, Stroke and Diabetes

Communications Committee is looking for working members. This is an active ministry that works with our web site, Facebook page and E-Newsletter. The committee meets in the parish office conference room the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM we are usually finished by 8:30 PM. You don't have to be a techno wiz; if you love to write and report on parish activities we welcome you. We need you to help bring the story of St. Mathias Parish forward. In talking with Mrs. Lee about her professional life as an educator, and about her new role at St. Matthias, one word that quickly comes to mind is "energy"! Mrs. Lee's varied background as a social worker, teacher, instructional coach, and now principal has been filled with challenges and she has used her energy to rise up to each challenge, succeed, and challenge herself to do more!

Soles Walk for Education
is BACK!
October 21, 2017
What is the Soles for Education Walk? This is a non-competitive, 2 mile walk around the Mount Mary Campus in Milwaukee. It is a fundraiser to promote Catholic Education and Support Catholic Schools- 100% of the funds raised stay at St. Matthias for the school to use as they see fit. This can include offsetting operating costs, tuition assistance, textbooks or technology supplies.
