My brothers and sisters in Christ,

I would like to thank you for a beautiful and moving convention. It was centered in Jesus Christ. The Holy Eucharist on Friday evening was sacred and joyful. Convention Saturday highlighted the mission and ministry of our congregations. We joined together as a family as we sang, voted, laughed, prayed, and lifted one another up. My heart was made full by seeing us join hands and move forward out into the world.

There were many highlights of the day that included special retirement recognitions, the print issue of Caminos (we ran out), the dedication of the "Hungry Jesus" statue, with honoring of Bishop Bartlett, and the presentation of the Bishop's Medal for Ministry to Jane Cosby and Helen White.

We will build upon the success of the extra budget hearings and take into account all the feedback you have given as we prepare for the 2019 budget process and for the 2018 Convention. This work is already underway.

I would like to thank you for your support, prayers and hope. My deepest gratitude to all who made this convention a success. God bless each one of you as we enter the most holy season of Advent. You are always in my prayers. Unto us a savior will be born and blessed are each one of us in this beautiful place called the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania.

In Christ,

The Rt. Rev. Daniel G. P. GutiƩrrez
XVI Bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
