about the glorious deeds of the Lord,

Baptists in Israel Baptize a Record Number in 2017

Friends of Nazareth congratulates the Association of Baptist Churches (ABC) in Israel. During 2017, ninety-one people made a public confession that Jesus is Lord of their lives and followed through on this decision with baptism in the Jordan River. The same river where John the Baptist (Luke 3:21-22) baptized Jesus.

This is a record number of baptisms for the ABC. We are thankful that some of those baptized and some of the pastors have roots at Nazareth Baptist School. As FON has said many times, NBS is an incubator for the Gospel.

Pray that in 2018 that the area Evangelical and Baptist churches will see an even greater number of people proclaim their commitment to Christ.

NBS and Local Baptist Church (LBC) Reach out to Bedouins in Need

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10. NBS faculty are expected to equip students to give back (NBS Foundational Value #11). FON is thankful to NBS and LBC for demonstrating God's love and provision to the families in Khan al-Ahmar which is near Ma'ale Adumin and Kfar Adumim Settlements in the West Bank.

The ministry objective...engage students and church members in a mission project that provides care for those in need. The ministry action...provide food and clothing to families in the West Bank that have great needs.

Feda, a Kindergarten teacher at NBS, led the outreach ministry between NBS and LBC. The mission recipient was a very poor Bedouin village in the West Bank. The school in the village is built from tires filled with dirt and stacked one upon the other. The residents live in tents. Conditions there are primitive and harsh.

Students and church members rallied and donated many items for the outreach ministry. Feda, Mona, a NBS graduate and a member of LBC and Pastor Bishara, a former LBC member and pastor of Yafa Baptist Church, delivered the items into the West Bank village. The gifts filled a van and were greatly appreciated by the villagers.

Friends of Nazareth is very proud of NBS and LBC.
