Dear Hawk Family,

My heart swells with Hawk Pride when I think about what our students and staff have already accomplished in just five weeks. I've seen amazing things from our students and I am so proud of how they have embraced the 4 Talons and made it real and relevant in their everyday lives. I challenge you to seek out and ask our students about the 4 Talons to see what it means to them.  Our staff has also been remarkable in taking on the challenge of the Educator Profile and embracing those same 4 Talons. They have chosen to ....
  • Be prepared
  • Be willing to take risk in their instruction to reach students
  • Exhibit great character in their interactions with students and with each other, and
  • Be able to live out "We Before Me" not only their service to their students but to the community
This is what we call the Heart of a Teacher .

The future is extremely bright in Red Oak ISD and I am constantly reminded of how great our students and staff are each time I am on a campus or at an event. Granted, we know we are not perfect, and we will stumble from time to time, but the challenge we accept is to - Get 1% Better Each and Every Day.
