  • WFB Library All You Can Make Art Bar 10:00-12:00noon
    All You Can Make Art Bar!
    Upstairs Program Room, All ages. No registration required. Paper, markers, glue, yarn, and more: there will be art supplies as far as the eye can see! Drop in and use your creativity to create amazing art at the All You Can Make Art Bar.

  • 55+ Better: Please register now at the WFB Rec Dept for Whitefish Bay Historic Society Walking Tour on Monday, October 16. Cost $5.00 -meet at Whitefish Bay Recreation Department at 1:30 and we will join historians Jeff Aikin and Tom Fehring authors of the new book "Historic Whitefish Bay a Celebration of Architecture".
     
  • WFB Library Teens: Meet-Up Monday 3:30-4:30pm
    M onthly teen drop-in after school program. Open to teens 12-up. May be held in the Storytime Room or Teen Area.

  • 55+ Better: Register deadline Thursday , October 5 for Oktoberfest at the Whitefish Bay Recreation Department on Tuesday October 10th. Doors open at 11:30, Lunch at 12:00 and Roger Boll accordion officinato performance at 12:45. Menu is: German meatballs over parsley noodles, red cabbage, vegetables, carrot raisin salad and apple strudel for dessert, milk and Starbucks coffee! Cost $9.00

  • WFB High School Homecoming Parade 2:15-3:00pm. Football game: 7:00pm.
    Route: Staging on Birch Avenue, South on Marlborough Drive to Henry Clay Street, East on Henry Clay Street to Ardmore Avenue, South on Ardmore Avenue with parade ending at entrance to Teacher's Parking Lot

  • WFB Library Robot Transformation 11am-12noon
    We'll supply the robot transformation supplies: paper bags, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and more. You just need to bring your creativity! Grades K4-5th. Registration opens October 1st.

Notice of New Public Meeting Location: Beginning October 2 and continuing through fall 2018, all Village Board Meetings will take place at the Whitefish Bay Public Library Program Room. 

Village Hall closes on October 12 and reopens operations on Oct 16 at the DPW, 155 W. Fairmount Ave (Fairmount and Lydell) to prepare for the construction through fall 2018. Details available here.

 Discussion on the grant program
 
Leaf Pickup Information: For now residents should bag or containerize leaves. Curbside pickup begins Mon., Oct. 16. Until then, some street sweeping of leaves will occur, beginning in the area between Lake Dr and Oakland first, then continuing with east-west streets where storm catch basins are.   

Pavement Mill and Overlay Project Upcoming
Several streets in the Village are included in this year's annual pavement mill and overlay project. This work will consist of pavement grinding, spot curb and gutter and base pavement repairs, and then resurfacing with asphalt. The work is expected to be completed in October The adjacent residents have been previously notified. Please drive carefully around this and all construction zones.
 
Cramer Street Storm Sewer Improvement Project (Glendale Avenue to Wilshire Road)
To address surface flooding due to heavy rain events, the Village is proceeding on this project to add additional storm sewer system capacity. Some needed sanitary and water utility work is taking place as well, along with the replacement of lead water services.  This project is expected to be completed in early November.
  
Chipping of Woody Material: Acceptable woody chipping materials are tree branches and large woody shrubs that are to be placed on the parkway. This service continues in an every other week rotation.
  
Recycling Information 
Trash & Recycling Collection Project: Website Information located HERE. Status Update as of September 12, 2017: The Village Board voted to authorize the implementation of a Village provided cart program to be placed near the curb or alley edge by the resident utilizing the automated collection process effective May 7, 2018 and directed village staff to develop an implementation plan that includes an exception process and to set the implementation date for the recycling program changes as of May 7, 2018.

Village Hall Renovation Project

 

The Village Hall of Whitefish Bay will be undergoing renovations and all services will be relocated for the eight-month Village Hall closure, beginning Oct. 12, 2017. Many services will be relocated to the Department of Public Works, 155 W. Fairmount (at Lydell).

Village Board Meetings and other Committee Meetings will relocate to the WFB Library.

Thurs., 10/12/17: Last day of service at Village Hall for eight months
Fri., 10/13/17 - Fall 2018: Village Hall will remain closed for renovation
Fall 2018: Village Hall will Reopen
 

Green Tree Bridge to Close: Notice of Public Meeting Wed., Oct. 18, 5pm

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is currently developing plans to reconstruct the Green Tree Road Road bridge over I-43 in 2018. To successfully deliver this project, a full closure of the bridge will be necessary. In addition to the bridge closure, the on-ramp from Good Hope Road to southbound I-43 will be closed for part of this project, as it will also be reconstructed.Posted detour information will be in place for the closure.
 
WisDOT is hosting a public involvement meeting (PIM) to provide information about the construction schedule, alternate routes and closures and planned construction activities.
 
The Public Involvement Meeting is planned for Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5:00-7:00p.m. in the cafeteria at Nicolet High School, 6701 N Jean Nicolet Road, Glendale. A brief presentation reviewing the project plans will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Project staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide project information before and after the presentation.

The North Shore communities including Whitefish Bay have seen a recent increase in motor vehicle thefts and thefts of items from motor vehicles. Please remember to remove the keys and FOB from your vehicle when parked and lock your car doors. Leaving exterior house lights on at night can also help prevent unwanted people from coming onto your property at night.

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation is proud to present the 31st annual Great Pumpkin Festival again this year.  The event will take place from 6pm to 9pm Wednesday-Sunday, October 25 - 29, 2017.
  • The Pumpkin Festival will be held once gain at Old Schoolhouse Park, located directly across from the WFB Public Library, 5420 N. Marlborough Drive.
  • Enter the Pumpkin patch, pick out a pumpkin and bring it into our carving tent!  Prepare, design and carve your pumpkin at this family friendly event. 
  • We provide the FREE pumpkins, carving tools, candles, and table space.  Design a jack-o-lantern, and it will be lit and on display every night.
  • Each night will feature live local music and delicious food from Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn.
