Join us for this free in-person workshop at the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky's conference facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Helen Keller said, "Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much." Developing strong coalitions can make or break effective community work. We will draw on the wisdom in the room to deepen our understanding of effective community coalitions. Although not required, it is recommended that you bring two people from your community for maximum impact. Lunch provided.

Hear about the Kentucky Incentives for Prevention (KIP) Survey from REACH Evaluation's Epidemiologist, Teresa McGeeney, MS. The KIP survey is Kentucky's largest source of data related to student use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD), as well as a number of measures of mental health, suicidal behaviors, and related risk factors.

Integrating Cognitive Behavioral Skills Into Clinical Practice

Psychosocial risk factors, such as fear of movement and pain catastrophizing, have a negative infuence on rehabilitation outcomes and often result in higher levels of pain and disability. Changing Behavior through Physical Therapy (CBPT) and Occupational Therapy (CBOT) is a program designed to improve patient outcomes by addressing specifc psychosocial risk factors. This program has been approved for 7.5 contact hours in KY for PTs and OTs.

Building Capacity for Oral Health Fluoridation Equipment in Local Communities
Eligible entities include: public water systems that are part of a city or county government, water systems that are part of a utility authority, other state or local government entities that may be associated with a public water system, or state or local oral health coalitions.

The Department of Agriculture's Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program
The program is designed to, among other things, meet the needs of low-income people by increasing their access to fresher, more nutritious food supplies; increase the self-reliance of communities in providing for their own food needs; promote comprehensive responses to local food, farm, and nutrition issues; and create innovative marketing activities that mutually benefit agricultural producers and low-income consumers.

This community-based grant program is aimed towards promoting rural health care services by enhancing health care delivery in rural communities.
