Art Students Well-Equipped for Photo Shoot
On Wednesday, September 20, 51 LFHS Photo students visited Chicago to photograph the Loop, Millennium Park and the Riverwalk!
For the first time ever (40 Photo field trips!), all students were provided with digital cameras through a generous LFHS Foundation grant. They enjoyed the immediate feedback the camera displays provide as well as the flexibility in lenses and the broad range of shutter speeds the Canon t6 model offers. Students were also able to benefit from one-on-one coaching from their teacher.
LFHS Senior AP Art student Micki McMahon displayed her artwork - including paintings, tables and skateboards at the recent Annual Art Fair on the Square in Lake Forest over the Labor Day weekend. She is pictured with LFHS Art Teacher and Judge of the Artisan Guild Art Show Wendy Antrim.

Grants in Action
One of our grants last spring was purchasing additional high-speed, digital SLR cameras for the Art department to help them keep up with the growing popularity of photography classes. This past week, Art teacher Carolyn Bielski took a large group of students into Chicago with their cameras, and here is what she shared...
"On behalf of the LFHS Art Department, we would like to say a HUGE "thank you" to the Foundation for our digital SLR camera grant! Today we spent the day downtown photographing the Loop, Millennium Park and the Riverwalk. We had 51 young photographers and for the first time ever (this is my 40th field trip), we were able to supply ALL OF THEM with digital cameras!"
