Organizations that make volunteers a key part of their work and manage them well are able to see 3-6 times their return on investment. Still, buy-in from all stake holders is not always easy to achieve. This training gives volunteer managers the tools to approach program changes in a strategic way and increase overall organizational effectiveness. Volunteer coordinators who have attended UServeUtah's intro-level volunteer management training will dive deeper into topics like recruitment and retention and be introduced to new ones in this brand new, never-before-taught curriculum.

The Utah Nonprofits Association (UNA) Volunteer Management Credential Badge Training, presented by UServeUtah, is on November 1 & November 14 in Salt Lake City with a mandatory workshop on January 30.

The UServeUtah AmeriCorps Member of the Month for September is  Anthony Roncher! Anthony became a new crew leader for  Canyon Country Youth Corps (CCYC) in 2017 after serving as a CCYC member in 2016. Anthony, along with his co-leader, worked hard to create a strong family-like crew with attentive and excited crew members. This is not an easy feat with 14-17-year-olds on their summer break, but Anthony succeeded. He has taught these new sawyers the skills and nuances of chainsaw use and maintenance, including keeping safety, efficiency, and preparedness in mind.  Anthony also guided a crew in building quality trails and fences in the La Sal Mountains during the summer. He continues to promote enthusiasm and attentiveness among his crew as they move forward to undertake new projects. Congratulations Anthony! 

AmeriCorps, also known as the Domestic Peace Corps, engages thousands of Americans nationwide in intensive, results-driven service in areas of education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve for up to a year and receive a modest living allowance, training,  and an education scholarship to pay for college or pay back student loans.
