Distinctive Education
Grounded in Truth

Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14 NIV

Classical Christian education seeks to build the whole soul of the student through timeless truths and proven methods.  An ongoing debate within the educational community is how to individually differentiate our instruction to meet the learning styles and levels of each individual student.  In the days of a one room schoolhouse or even a smaller community school, differentiation was not so much a challenge.  However, as our school grows above the 300 or 400 mark, the variety of learning styles and diversity of academic levels expands at an ever-increasing rate.

In order to meet different learning needs, our school seeks to provide more robust extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities to develop individual gifts.  Art programs such as Conservatory, Math Clubs, Science Olympiads, and our developing STEM initiatives all allow students to go further and deeper in specific fields of interest.

Additionally, our school offers Academic Enrichment and Curriculum Assistance Programs (AEP and CA) in both lower and upper school that individualizes instruction to each child's particular needs and strengths.  These remarkable programs are based on a research-based methodology that helps to remediate and develop strategies to assist students in achieving success.

As Christians, however, and as classical educators, we do not equate success in education only with academic achievement.  The goal of forming the entire soul allows us to pour such qualities as wisdom, truth, discernment, self-control, and character into every student equally with the understanding that their ability to grow in these virtues is not limited by their individual mental or physical capacity.

The fruits of the Spirit are as much a goal of our education as high SAT scores.  God's ability to use and promote the success of each individual student is limited only by our willingness to obey Him.  2 Timothy 2:21 describes the wide diversity of "vessels" within God's house.  His promise for them all is that if anyone allows God to cleanse and fill us, "he will be a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."

This end aligns well with the goal of a Christian Classical education.  Rather than fitting each child into a rigid rubric, we desire that they be prepared, both academically and spiritually, for whatever good work God has individually prepared for them individually.

Charleston Wrap Fundraiser
Congratulations to all who participated in our annual Athletics Department Charleston Wrap Fundraiser!  We are pleased to announce another record setting year with total sales doubling that from last year.  Since our net proceeds will depend on the items ordered, we will not have a total amount earned to announce for a few weeks.  However, based on the total amount sold we are excited about the prospect of making significant progress towards the amount needed for a vehicle (van or bus) for our Athletic Department.

Congratulations to Lower School Homeroom and Upper School House winners:

Lower School:
  • 1st place:  Mrs. Odeke's 4th grade class
  • 2nd place: Mrs. Smith's 3rd grade class

Upper School:

  • 1st place:  House of Paul
  • 2nd:  House of Moses

The induction for the Christ Covenant School National Honor Society will be held Tuesday, October 3 at the Upper School campus multi-purpose room at 7:00 p.m with a reception immediately following.

Students in grades 10-12 with a 3.5 unweighted GPA or above have the opportunity each year to apply for membership. The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. To maintain membership a student must participate in the group service projects, support school wide events, grow in character development and continue to keep an unweighted 3.5 GPA or higher at Christ Covenant School.

Upper School House Challenge #1
Friday October 6 after lunch until  3:00 p.m. at the Upper School

The students will play Dodgeball in a competition to earn points towards determining the final House Winner!  Upper School students are permitted to wear their house t-shirts (or other same colored t-shirt) and comfortable athletic shorts/pants.

We need a few volunteers for this event.  Please e-mail Mr Chancellor, [email protected] if you are interested in helping with this event.

Chicken Dinner - Friday November 17
Please plan for our annual Chicken Dinner Fundraiser scheduled for Friday, November 17. Chicken Dinner is an awesome opportunity for you to serve as a volunteer. It is always a fun day of fellowship and a little work in support of our school.  Proceeds of this fundraiser are committed as a portion of our Financial Aid program.

For those new to the school, each family will receive 5 Chicken Dinner Tickets to purchase/sell.  In order for this fundraiser to be a success, we need each family to commit to these 5 tickets.  We'll be sending the tickets home in bookbags sometime after Grandparents Day but now is the time to plan how your tickets will be sold.

A good portion of the sale is business orders where we deliver meals for businesses who purchase a minimum of 10 plates and are within a 10 mile radius of CCS Lower School. If you are in a position to sell Business Orders, please start planning for our November 17th date!
