GBA Board of Directors Election

The GBA is currently holding its annual Board of Directors election. The directors will be elected from the Participating Membership to fill two open seats; voting ends 14 October. All Participating Members, please vote now. The directors will be named in mid-October. See GBA's current Board of Directors here.

GBA at DistribuTECH 2018

The Green Button Alliance is sponsoring a member-oriented booth at DistribuTECH 2018, 23-25 January in San Antonio, Texas. The GBA booth (#3247) is a 10x10 space located in the main exhibition hall of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. GBA Presented Green Button at WEEC

Donald F. Coffin, GBA's Technical Manager, presented "Green Button Data: A Deep Dive" as part of the " Smart Meters and The Utility Data Access Revolution " session held 27 September during the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) event in Atlanta, Georgia. The session was well-attended and Coffin expertly addressed questions from the audience following his talk.

Silver Spring Networks and Itron

GBA member Silver Spring Networks announced it will combine with Itron to accelerate smart grid and smart city innovation and growth. See the announcement here.

SGCC: a New Name and Greater Mission

GBA member the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative announced at its recent Annual Members Meeting and Fall Workshop that it has changed its name to the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) to reflect its expanded mission. Read more here.

Energy Toolbase Launches Update

GBA member Energy Toolbase launched a powerful software update that enables developers to model, optimize, and propose the economics of any type of behind-the-meter energy storage project providing benefits to both residential and commercial project developers. Congratulations

The GBA congratulates Kristen Honey, Sr. Analyst, Office of Management & Budget, the White House, and a long-time proponent of Open Data including Green Button, on being nominated for the FedScoop 50 Awards in the category of "Tech Champion of the Year."

On 26 July, Illinois regulators finalized an Open Data Framework for utilities making Illinois a national leader in setting the guidelines for the secure access and sharing of customer energy-usage data.
