Player Spotlight

Brett Ritchie
Dallas Stars
This month's player spotlight is on Orangeville, Ontario native, Brett Ritchie. Brett entered the 2011 NHL Entry Draft as one of the draft's most desired power forwards. Brett was selected early in the second round when the Dallas Stars claimed the young scorer with the 44th pick.  Brett returned to the OHL for two seasons, before entering professional hockey in 2013. Despite injuries limiting Brett's availability, he has appeared in nearly 120 NHL games while becoming one of Dallas's most promising young forwards.
Accordingly, the Stars ensured Brett was back in their lineup this fall by protecting him ahead of last summer's expansion draft, and shortly after, rewarding him with a new two-year contract. The article linked below, forecasts that Brett will be the Stars' breakout offensive player in 2017-18.
