WELCOME 2017-2018 ART DOCENTS
Training Tonight: Mon, Sept 25th

Calling 5th grade parents: Ms. Ianni's 5th grade class is still without an Art Docent.  If you have a student in her class, or you are a 5th grade parent willing to do an extra lesson in her class, please email me and let me know.  Let's give these students one more year to experience the fun Art Docent lessons and the chance to see their art at the end of the year social.

These classrooms could use an assistant: Also, a few other classrooms (Corey, Weinmeister, Conklin, McElrea, Rasmussen, and Gibson) only have one docent, who would probably love an assistant.  Please email Julie Balkcum  if you are able to offer your time and assistance this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing those who can make it to our informational meeting tonight, September 25th, at 7 pm, in the library.  If you are new to the Art Docent program this is a great chance to get all of your questions answered so you are set for an easy, fun year of volunteering.

Thank you volunteers!

MATH CHALLENGE #1

Math Challenge is back for this school year! For those who are new to the program, Math Challenge is a PTA sponsorED program that is offered free to all students at Rockwell.

There are 15 challenges total for the school year and each challenge contains math problems that are appropriate for each grade level.  This program is optional and our aim is to encourage students to enjoy learning and working on math. It is a great family activity, as we encourage the students to work with each other, or family to discuss and solve the questions.

Once the student completes the challenge, simply hand in the MC to their teacher or the office by the due date, and we will randomly select 12 students to receive a prize for each Math Challenge as an encouragement for their work.

Our first Math Challenge is now available. You can access the challenge  here. The due date for this Math Challenge #1 is  28th Sept by 3pm.

Please contact us if you have any question or if you need additional information about this program.
