Screenagers: Growing Up in a Digital Age
Movie Showing
Tuesday, October 24th at 7PM

Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time-friction she knew all too well. Join us for a screening of this documentary which has been featured on PBS NewsHour, Good Morning American and The Dr. Oz Show, and has been highlighted in in the New York Times and other publications.

Award-winning SCREENAGERS probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including the director's own, and depicts messy struggles, over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through surprising insights from authors and brain scientists solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world. Co-Sponsored by BrainBalance.

Now is the Time to Get Creative at the NEW Maker Space!
The  Maker  Space at the Wyckoff Library is a place for community members to connect, discover, and create.  The library strives to provide enriching opportunities for people to learn new skills and collaborate.  The  Maker  Space will provide access to a variety of tools that allow patrons to make, explore, and tinker.  Acquiring basic technology skills is essential in the 21st century. Libraries are a logical place for the community to come together to learn and explore technology-new and old.

The library received a grant from State Farm to create a Maker Space. Residents helped to secure the grant through voting online. Additional support for equipment has been given from the Friends of the Wyckoff Library.

The two have seemingly casual discussion about how two strangers could get away with murder.  Co-adapted by Raymond Chandler from a novel by Patricia Highsmith, Strangers on a Train perfectly exemplifies Hitchcock's favorite theme of the evil that lurks just below the surface of everyday life and ordinary men.

When Andy and Elizabeth buy a farm in Vermont, they can't imagine the trouble that awaits them. Andy has quit his job as a sports journalist and is planning to use the peace and quiet of the country to write the Great American Novel. From the moment the movers' truck gets lost with their furniture, though, there's little peace and less quiet. Can the Farmers survive the townsfolk and each other?

Now faced with a libel lawsuit in British court, Lipstadt and her attorney have the heavy burden of proving that the Holocaust actually happened, in a riveting legal fight with stunning consequences.
