Business Lawyer of the Year Award Open for Nominations
The Section will present the Award to a lawyer who demonstrates professionalism and integrity, superior legal service, exemplary service to the Section, and service to the public at a reception on Nov. 15. The deadline is Oct. 2. View the selection criteria and nomination instructions. Recent recipients include David Buchholz, Leonard Sanchez, John Salazar, Dylan O'Reilly and Susan McCormack.
Board of Bar Commissioners Election Notice
The following terms will expire Dec. 31, and need to be filled in the upcoming election (Jan. 1, 2018-Dec. 31, 2020): First Bar Commissioner District (Bernalillo County): two positions; Third Bar Commissioner District (Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval and Santa Fe counties): two positions; Sixth Bar Commissioner District (Chaves, Eddy, Lea, Lincoln and Otero counties): two positions. Indian Law Section Attorney Achievement Award
Nominate a colleague for the ILS Attorney Achievement Award which recognizes the amazing accomplishments of its Section members. Nominees must be a member of the Section and the nomination must explain, in one page or less, the nature of the nominee's extraordinary achievements in Indian law and the nominee's contributions to the community. Submit nominations to Breanna Henley by 5 p.m., Oct. 27.
Solo Law Practice Bootcamp from Entrepreneurs in Community Lawyering
ECL, the State Bar's legal incubator program, invites current or prospective solo practitioners to attend the Fall Incubator Boot Camp, Oct. 17-20.
