Certified Financial Counseling Program (FiCEP): Hear One of the Many Stories
Over the last five years, LCUL has facilitated over 250 of your local peers on their journey to become Certified Financial Counselors.  They in turn have been helping members to achieve new levels of financial freedom ever since.the

Cassie Theriot of Section 705 FCU became certified in 2013  and finds such personal joy in helping her members.  Cassie counseled her member Debra for 2 years, during which time Debra made sacrifices including riding the bus in order to save up her money.

Over those 2 years, with Cassie's help, she was able to slowly build up her credit to make her dreams of owning her own car a reality.  Cassie is quite proud and couldn't wait to pose with Debra behind the wheel of her brand new car.  Cassie proudly exclaimed, "This is what perseverance, patience, and faith looks like!"

Are you ready to join the ranks of the certified counselors and share success stories like Debra's?

Neighbors Raises More Than $7,000 During Real Men Wear Pink Campaign
Neighbors participated in the American Cancer Society's Real Mean Wear Pink campaign during the month of October.

The Real Men Wear Pink campaign looks to community leaders to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. Neighbors nominated President and CEO Steve Webb as its candidate for this cause. Webb finished as the runner-up in our area's campaign by raising $7,040. The original goal was to raise $2,500, and Neighbors nearly tripled that.

The funds raised will be used by the American Cancer Society for patient and family support services," Webb said. "Breast cancer related deaths have declined 38 percent over the past 25 years. But until that number is 100 percent, there is work to be done."
Jeff Johnson Joins CSE as New Interim Construction Loan Officer
CSE Federal Credit Union's Chief Lending Officer, Bob Rust recently announced the addition of Jeff Johnson as the new Interim Construction Loan Officer.

"Jeff will be joining the team of mortgage lenders. We are delighted to have Jeff come on board. His residential construction and lending experience are sure to be an asset to our community. Now that CSE is a community-charter credit union we have more possibilities to grow in the lending area. Interim loans are important to CSE because we are helping our members achieve their dreams. This is all a part of what we do at CSE and he is the perfect fit for our credit union culture." Rust commented.
