Juniors & Seniors Engage
in Chesed Days
In the last of the Avinu Malkenus, we ask HaKadosh Baruch Hu to deal with us using His midda of  chesed. The request acts as an impetus to encourage all of us to reciprocate in turn by engaging in  meaningful acts of kindness. TABC's seniors and juniors took this idea to heart, as each  participated in a day of chesed over the last few weeks. Groups helped clean the Hebrew Free Burial Society's cemetery, prepared food for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and engaged the elderly residents at the Daughters of Miriam facility. Yasher Koach to TABC's new chesed coordinator, Rabbi Jonathan Kessel, for organizing a wonderful start to the year. For more pictures of the juniors, click here. Freshman Frenzy Excites and Unites
This week TABC's freshmen spent a fun day out together, as they experienced Freshman Frenzy, a day of bonding and fun. The day began with a team building exercise of h uman Foosball. Attached to PVC pipes, the freshmen had to move side to side without taking their hands off the piping to score goals! Afterwards. they went out to participate in a neighborhood scavenger hunt needing to work together to get items like business cards, bank deposit slips, pictures with police officers and students in shopping carts. After making friends with many of the local businesses the freshmen headed back to TABC for a pizza lunch. After lunch, they took a  trip over the bridge to Chelsea Piers where they participated in numerous activities, including dodgeball, basketball, soccer, rock climbing, batting cages and jousting. T he freshmen returned to school feeling much more unified and ready for a great year ahead. For more photos click here.

TABC Students Help Build Sukkot
Twenty of our talmidim spent the Sunday before Rosh Hashana helping people throughout the community put up their sukkot. One of the sukkah owners wrote Rabbi Kessel, TABC's chesed coordinator, a beautiful note stating, "Your young men were efficient, intelligent and a joy to work with! Thank you so much for helping me bring in the New Year in joy! עבדו את השם בשמחה!." For more photos click here.

Rabbi JJ Schacter Gives Bein Adam L'Chaveiro Shiur to  Y18
On Thursday of last week the talmidim in the Y18 honors Judaic studies class were privileged to listen to a shiur from Rabbi Jacob J. Schacter on the importance of interpersonal relationships and how they affect atonement for all aveirot on Yom Kippur. Rabbi Schacter graciously gave of his time when he heard of the new Bein Adam L'chavero initiative, which Y18 began last week under the leadership of Rabbi Wiener. Students in this class will spend two days a week studying source material b'chavruta on a variety of Bein Adam L'chavero topics including ona'at devarim, nekama, judging favorably, lo tachmod, loshon hara and many more. This will be a two year course with the goal that it will become part of the TABC Judaic Studies curriculum for all classes in the near future. The talmidim are already demonstrating a heightened sensitivity toward this area of halacha after just two days of study, and the hope is that we help mold true bnei Torah who display a commitment to the Torah in its entirety.
