"I am in awe that a service like Samaritans exists and that people are kind enough to volunteer their time for people who need an ear. THANK YOU!"

Going the Distance for Suicide Prevention

We are incredibly grateful to the John Hancock Non-Profit Program for granting Samaritans entries to the Boston Marathon for the 11th year in a row! We have 12 incredible runners taking on 26.2 miles for suicide prevention and fundraising to support our life saving services.

Meet the team on social media with some fun videos on Giving Tuesday, November 28.
Don't miss it - be sure to follow Samaritans on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Check out our team page on CrowdRise to learn about our amazing runners and and support their journeys!

Samaritans gives special thanks this November to our helpline volunteers.  Without them, our Helpline would not run, and we would not be able to help as many people as we do.

School Partnerships for Suicide Prevention

We are so grateful for our continuing partnerships, where we return each year to deliver our
life-saving suicide prevention workshops, including schools in Billerica, Hopkinton, Norfolk, Marlborough, Everett, and Wakefield.

We're also thankful to include for the first time two new schools: Assabet Regional Technical High School and Reading Memorial High School. It has been wonderful to expand outreach into new communities and establish new partnerships. Our school partners recognize the importance of talking about warning signs and how to prevent suicide with their students.
To Our Wonderful Grief Support Services
Team - Thank You!

"Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen." -Blaise Pascal

We thank you for all of the compassion and empathy  you
give to
fellow survivors. We thank you for your generosity of time.
We thank you for sharing your journey with others to alleviate isolation.
Because of you, there is a space where healing can occur and love can
still stand.  Without you, our incredible and compassionate team
of volunteers,
we would not be able to serve the hundreds of survivors
who
utilize our services each year. In the spirit of Thanksgiving,
we wish to extend our deepest appreciation to you for
all that you give to our community.

With tremendous gratitude,
Debbie and Emily
 Welcome, Emma and Erika!

Emma Kerry began volunteering at Samaritans in April 2012 (she volunteered for the Samaritans-run University helpline, for three years, in Oxford), and was a Homeleader and Mentor, and helped out with training and interviews; she was, for a number of years, the volunteer covering the most shifts. She is deeply delighted and proud to join Samaritans as a staff member.

A recent graduate of Quinnipiac University, Erika Boughter is thrilled to begin working at Samaritans as the Special Events Coordinator. She is excited to combine her passion for suicide prevention and mental health awareness with her experience in event coordination.
