You have made a tremendous impact on the lives of students and families!
We can't express enough how grateful we are for your support of our work with some of Washtenaw Counties' most vulnerable youth. Because of your selfless donations and volunteering to organize school supplies, clothing, toiletries, and more, this year already, we've provided various supports to over 600 school aged youth in dire need.
Here at The Education Project, our goal is to make sure that no child in our area is ever without resources to go to school.
While we are heartened to have filled
over 1,300 requests for support to students and families this year, the unfortunate reality is that many homeless school aged youth in Washtenaw county are still fighting to have their basic needs met.

In order to meet the consistent needs of our students, especially in winter, we are specifically asking for donations of coats of any size, or for any of the following:
- Coats (M or F)
- Underwear (M or F)
- Gift Cards to purchase coats or other clothing items
- Gift Cards to purchase food (e.g. McDonald's, Kroger, Subway, etc.)

If you are interested in more volunteer opportunities with The Education Project, we are asking for donations and volunteers for our Holiday Drive. Our capacity spikes around the holidays as we try to provide all the students we work with a special holiday gift. Some examples might include:
- Board Games
- Puzzles
- Matchbox Cars
- Art Supplies
- Children's Books

The Education Project, sometimes known as the Education Project for Homeless Youth, is designed to ensure that students experiencing homelessness or unstable living situations enroll, regularly attend, and succeed in school. Under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, students who are homeless must have equal access to free and appropriate public education.
The Education Project works closely with liaisons in the school districts, allies within each school, community partners, and families to identify and serve all youth affected by homelessness.
