Harvest Faire weekend was a beautiful tribute to our families. Thank you for coming to support the parish and spend time with family and friends. Second grade did a beautiful job singing praises and Father Bart surprised the crowd with a rendition of La Bamba.
I want to share that I am out on family leave this week. We welcomed a new addition to our family. Arya Marie was born on Monday morning, joining her two brothers, Oliver and Jack Griswold, and completing the House of Griswold - Party of Five. Thank you for all the love and prayers for our family. Praying is a beautiful source of great strength. Pope Francis reminds us that praying for each other makes a family strong.
You should have received a constant contact email on Parent Teacher Conferences with a sign-up schedule (links). Your conference is a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress, share your child's strengths and needs, and work with the teacher to help your child do well in school. The conference provides time to pray together as a family with your teacher.
Friday we have Faith Families instead of Mass. Our junior high students will lead us in an activity highlighting the Catholic Social Teaching: Care for the Earth. Our students will read a story about Suzy, a rice farmer in Madagascar, and learn how to be better stewards of God's creation by living this principle in our own lives. We encourage you to be active in your own neighborhood community by showing your children how to be good stewards.
My prayer for you and your family is that you celebrate the simple things, that you laugh together and find joy in each others' presence.
