Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you!
Cy-Hope thanks the hundreds of volunteers that helped us clean out our Hope Chest Resale Market and our Backpack Barn after Hurricane Harvey! Click here to see them in action.
Cy-Hope also thanks Preston Baird, an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 1177, for his amazing landscaping job for our Hope Lodge.
Giving Corner
Cy-Hope will soon start our Ambassadors of Compassion fall program. AOC is a 22-week coach-led program taught in Cy-Fair ISD's Pace Plus or Teen Leadership class. AOC provides students with resiliency, hope, and the skills needed to navigate and succeed through life's inevitable challenges. This year, we plan to expand the program to six schools, equipping over 500 students with the skills necessary to overcome life's challenges.

October 2017

A lot has transpired since our last newsletter. It's tempting to use a picture of the flood waters that surrounded our Hope Chest Resale Market or the streets throughout our headquarters as our feature photo this month. But, despite the havoc that Harvey wreaked on our community, we feature a photo that remains true to the spirit of Cy-Hope and our continued mission to make life better for kids in Cy-Fair. Thanks to hundreds of community volunteers, we plan to have The Hope Chest back open in October, with a grand re-opening celebration almost one year from our grand opening in 2016. We also have worked with volunteers to clean out our Backpack Barn so we can start delivering food to over 1,200 CFISD students for the new school year. Our Hope Centers did not have damage and continue to provide a haven for kids to come do their homework, get a snack, and have some playtime. We will start our new Ambassador of Compassion classes in October. And, we have plans in the works to expand our Dierker's Champs baseball program. We will also play a pivotal role in helping our community with the long-term recovery from Harvey - hosting rebuild teams from around the nation and partnering with Foundry Church in their relief efforts. We have loaned out our Alamo building to Covenant Academy as a temporary home while they repair their school building. They have a new motto for this year that seems to resonate with us -  A ll together, Lean in, and Move On -  ALAMO!

Cy-Hope Disaster Recovery
Cy-Hope will partner with volunteer organizations throughout the country - Austin Disaster Relief Network, Saddleback Church, UMCOR, Christians Providing Relief and many more - to start the rebuild stage of Houston from the aftermath of Harvey. Cy-Fair represents 1/5 of the greater Houston area, so we need a lot of help focused right here in our area.   Click here to donate to Cy-Hope's Harvey rebuild efforts (just put "Disaster Recovery" in the memo).
