A Sensory-Friendly Thanksgiving
Aahh, Thanksgiving. The Fall colors, the cooking aromas, the hustle and bustle of a large dinner. For families with children with sensory issues, those very things can become triggers. It's important to remember that Thanksgiving is really about being with people you love, that love you and your children.  Learn more about how to make this special holiday meal more relaxed for you and your child.
Change the Clocks, Change the Batteries
We recently changed our clocks as Daylight Saving Time ended. Did you change the batteries in your smoke and CO alarms? Changing batteries each time we change the clocks is a good way to remember this important task. Stay safe and be sure your family is protected.  Read more
We Love a Parade!
If you're planning on braving the crowds and the elements to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person, you'll want to read this article. In it is information on the parade route, viewing locations and more. You'll also learn about the balloon inflation, which takes place on Wednesday, November 22. Have fun!
Attend a free workshop!
Be sure to regularly check our Event Calendar! MKSA offers free provider workshops and free parent workshops. These give our providers opportunities to stay current on issues while maintaining their professional development hours. And we are looking to connect in more ways with families--whether in our program or not--and provide information and strategies on typical childhood topics. We hope to see you soon!
