AAI has launched a Pre-Apprenticeship Education Program

The American Apprenticeship Initiative has recently partnered with Tooling U (Online Learning) to offer classes in Basic Safety and Fundamentals of Machining and other manufacturing trades such as:

  • OSHA Basics
  • Shop Math
  • Measurements
  • Machine Basics

These classes would equal about 45-50 hours, or roughly 5-6 hours per month of 1.5 hours a week for 8 months (October-May).

Participants will receive a certificate for their Tooling U education, that would then be a credit toward a registered apprenticeship's related instruction if they get hired as an apprentice.

They will also provide a monthly Soft Skills training session on topics such as: Time Management, Dependability, Attitude & Conflict Resolution.

A certificate for completion of Soft Skills Training will be included.

Participants would take part in interviews with actual employers who are willing to host a PAID SUMMER INTERN for 200 hours.

FINANCIAL COACHING FOR VETERANS WORKSHOPS

There are two financial workshops for veterans this month. November's subject is "Credit Reports and Credit Scores". This workshop explains why credit reports and scores are important, what information is contained in a credit report and how to improve your score.

If attendees would like to bring their own credit reports it would enhance the value of the workshop to them individually.  Credit reports can be obtained by going to annualcreditreport.com.  This website gives you access to all 3 credit reports authorized by law, annually, free of charge. As always the workshop will be interactive and allows for the exchange of ideas.
