Creative City Awards 13 Boston Artists, Groups
In its fifth round of grants, Creative City awards $126,500 to 13 artist projects that will take place throughout 2018. The program supports public art projects of all genres that engage directly with Bostonians in their neighborhoods.

Learnings from Art in the Service of Understanding

Center Stage Egypt, Ukraine Artists Booking Now
Center Stage Season 4 artists and ensembles from Egypt and the Ukraine are booking tours across the U.S. for Fall 2018.  Artist fees, international and domestic travel, logistics, and staffing are substantially underwritten.  Visit e ach  artist page  to learn more about these amazing ensembles.

The next
  New England States Touring grant deadline is December 1, 2017, for projects taking place on or after March 1, 2018. The grant deadlines for NEST will now occur in August, December, and April. Details at  nefa.org
Board News

Karen Mittelman, Ph.D., has joined NEFA's board of directors. Mittelman is the recently appointed executive director of the Vermont Arts Council.

Mittelman was previously director of the Division of Public Programs at the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in Washington, D.C. She brings to the Arts Council more than thirty years of experience in the public sector and the federal cultural arena.

Staff News

Rodrigo DelaTorre has joined the organization as Finance Manager.

Prior to NEFA, Rodrigo was an accounting and finance consultant, most recently with Daley and Associates. In this role, he worked with many organizations from different sectors, including education, research, international health, and development, with changes in operating systems, finance policy, audits and tax reporting, and a variety of day to day tasks.
