This is a collaborative event brought to the community by the Physical and Mental Health committee of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority of Newton County and NAMI Rockdale-Newton. We will also have information provided by Project Aware and the local Suicide Prevention Coalition. This presentation will be free and open to anyone interested in attending. RSVP HERE

Community Thanksgiving Worship Service
Community Thanksgiving
The annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be at Covington First United Methodist Church t his year. We will gather for worship at 7:00pm on Tuesday, November 21. This has been an important time for churches in our community to come together as the people of God.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Community Thanksgiving Meal
For the last 30+ years our church members have joined with others in the community to provide dinner on Thanksgiving Day. It is an effort to provide food for those in need as well as an opportunity for the community to eat together. The dinner is sponsored by the Newton County Ministers' Union and is held at the Newton County Theme School

Volunteers will be needed to help prepare the food on Wednesday, November 22 beginning at noon (bring a paring knife and/or a veggie peeler). Dinner will be served on Thanksgiving Day from 11:00am until 2:00pm. If you are interested in donating to this event, you may give to the church and designate your gift for "Community Dinner."

FPC Congregational Family Dinner
Turkey Dinner
We will be cooking Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 23 at the church for those in our congregation who are alone on the holiday. There are many of us who are out of town transplants and do not have family near by or have small families and may want the enjoyment of a large group at Thanksgiving. We have decided to come together and be that group for each other this year. RSVP to Caryn Thompson  or Michael Thompson  by Sunday 11/19 so that we can prepare enough food. You can bring a side to share or a dessert, but it is not required to attend. If transportation is a challenge, but you would still like to attend, let us know in advance and we will try our best to make arrangements so you don't miss out on the holiday festivities.

Stewardship Pledge Reminder
** REMINDER **
If you have not yet had an opportunity to submit a completed pledge card for this year's Stewardship Campaign, please do so as soon as possible so that our Session can begin making budget plans for the coming year.

Pledge cards are available at the church office or via download HERE. You may fill it out online and return it to the church via e-mail, or bring it with you to worship on Sunday morning.
