Dear Friends,

The recent wave of hurricanes and earthquakes that have hit the Caribbean, Mexico, and the United States has left a trail of destruction taking hundreds of lives and leaving millions homeless and destitute.

HELPING AFTER PUERTO RICO, MEXICO, CUBA AND US MAINLAND DISASTERS

In Oaxaca, Mexico, RWF is working directly with local aid workers to distribute emergency relief supplies such as tarps, food, soaps and items to care for the basic necessities. We are also funding a traveling medical van with a doctor in the San Mateo del Sur area. RWF volunteers live in Oaxaca and will be assessing needs and administering the funds.

A mother and child get care in a mobile medical van that RWF is funding in Mexico.

In Texas, RWF is raising funds to provide food assistance though a network of local food banks.

In Puerto Rico, where communication links remain down, we are reaching out to the LGBTQ communities in Mayaguez and Rio Piedras to assess their needs.

In Cuba, we will continue to support our ongoing children's projects in hard-hit Matanzas province and we are working with the local LGBTQ community.

Please donate today and be part of the LGBTQ community's response. 100% of your donation will go to life saving aid to help the survivors!

WE ARE ONE HUMAN FAMILY

As the executive director of RWF, I am often asked why it is important for LGBTQ people to help others beyond our own community. I have been told "charity begins at home." Here are my thoughts on that in an op-ed I wrote for the Bay Area Reporter newspaper.
