Rotary Club of Wellington Pays Off $20,000 in Outstanding School Lunch Debts

There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but thanks to the Rotary Club of Wellington, Palm Beach County students' outstanding lunch debts are a thing of the past - $20,000 worth of them.

The Club was granted the money after they won this year's Great Charity Challenge. The annual event is presented by Fidelity Investments and Equestrian Sports Productions, the owners of the International Equestrian Center in Wellington. Non-profit organizations in the community that qualify are assigned a horse during a winter event and the prize money they receive is based on their horse and rider's performance.

"It is a beautiful thing when individuals and groups reach out and find ways to support the needs of our children," said Allison Monbleau, the District's Director of School Food Services.  Read more...
