2018 LIVE to LEAD

5-Part Leadership Series,
plus a 3-Day Leadership Challenge ® Experience
exclusively for CEOs & Senior Leaders of Leadership Council Member Agencies
"Nonprofit organizations operate on tight budgets, with nearly all of their dollars directed at supporting their mission. They often don't have the luxury of offering professional development opportunities for their leaders and staff," says Teresa Tanner, Fifth Third Bank Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer.

With that in mind, LIVE to LEAD (Leaders Inspiring Visionary Excellence) was born in 2015. Working with the Leadership Council, Fifth Third Bank helped create a comprehensive development approach that highlights key competencies for nonprofit leaders, such as talent management and change leadership. The program delivers its message through five courses taught by Fifth Third Bank leaders, followed by a deeper leadership dive in a retreat setting.

"This program touches a cord in our community," says Teresa. "And that's what we all strive for in our daily work - to find the creative solution that meets the needs of our customers and our communities."
5-Part Workshop Series Sessions
Session #1:  Building Relationships
Tuesday, January 9 | 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Everybody's different! This fact can be either a source of organizational strength or a source of confusion and conflict. This workshop will utilize the DiSC Profile assessment to focus on understanding different styles of behavior and communication and how these styles impact both individual and team relationships. To build stronger individual relationships, you will identify your own preferred style, recognize others' preferred styles, and then learn how to adapt your style to interact more effectively with others. To help your team become more efficient and effective, you will be introduced to The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Model based on the best-selling book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni.
Session #2:  Strategic Planning and Agility
Tuesday, January 30 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Great leaders understand that they must know where their organization is headed, or they're certain to end up somewhere else. Bring your current strategic plan to this four-hour, hands-on, workshop to gain tips and insights on how to ensure your strategic plans help you lead your organization to the outcomes it desires, select the best strategies to achieve those outcomes, and identify ways to measure your progress.
Session #3:  Maximizing Individual and Team Performance
Tuesday, February 20 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Do you have the right people in the right roles? This highly interactive, team-facilitated workshop will cover the key components of effective talent management. Through small and large group discussions, you will gain a better understanding of how to determine the talent you need, assess current talent, and accelerate the development of high potential talent. You'll also learn creative solutions for talent gaps and gain confidence for challenging performance conversations. Finally, you'll walk out with a plan to tackle your most pressing talent issue.
Session #4:  High Performing Team Development
Tuesday, March 13 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Picking up from the Building Relationships session, we will continue to dive deeper into the Five behaviors of a Cohesive Team model. To help your team become more efficient and effective, you will learn that once vulnerability-based trust is formed on a team, it is much easier to manage conflict, gain commitment, hold one another accountable, and ultimately focus on collective results. Each of these behaviors has a set of practical steps that you will be able to customize to meet your organization's needs.
Session #5:  Optimize Results by Managing Change
Tuesday, April 10 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
There are good reasons to make changes in organizations and they often revolve around improving processes, tools, or services to best meet the needs of clients and communities. However, many people have a natural resistance to change, making your job as a leader difficult if you want to realize desired results. Therefore, you must know how to engage employees and manage their concerns and anxieties so they will embrace and adopt change. This four-hour workshop will introduce you to a change management process and tools so you can lead change and continuous improvement efforts that inspire followership and ensure successful, sustainable implementation.

LIVE to Lead Testimonial:
"The facilitators for this program are TOP NOTCH! I've participated in a few leadership programs over the past three years and believe that LIVE to LEAD has been, by far, the best investment. LIVE to LEAD is focused on helping nonprofit leaders overcome challenges that are unique to their organization by providing various tools and helping you think through them as they relate to your own situations. The feedback and guidance from your peers is invaluable and your accountability group is a great way to keep you on track while you implement these ideas within your organization. I also highly recommend participating in the Leadership Challenge!"
