The Island Villas Goes Green program hosted a clean up of Trents Hill in St. James this July as well as Cattlewash Beach in September. As locals and visitors pointed out some of the trash that is carelessly thrown away in Barbados the team decided we had to do something about it and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our environment.

Island Villas joined the Plastic Free July challenge for the month. 



The last few months have been full of greening initiatives for Island Villas! As we attempt to make our operations more eco-friendly we have implemented the reduction of paper and printing waste. The office has been equipped with new printers that operate on a special management system. We are programmed to a select number of black-and-white or colour prints per month. This ensures that we do not print unnecessarily. 
A document management system has also been implemented not only to cut down on the need for printing but also to increase efficiency between our property management and accounts department. Bills are electronically stored on the system before being approved or held. Approved bills are sent to our accounts team to prepare for payment and add to property statements. This cuts out the need for printing each invoice and manually approving and giving to the accounts team.
Hurricanes and Barbados
Thus far, the 2017 hurricane season has been a very active and devastating one. Barbados has missed the full force of any of these systems due to its location at the south of the island chain. 
Weather systems are formed over the Atlantic after coming off the coast of Africa. Many of these systems begin their immeadiate trek on a more northerly direction so by the time they strengthen and/or reach the islands they are already north of Barbados.

Team IV's Day Out



Team IV enjoyed a fun and interactive day out with an inside view on training for the highly anticipated Barbados Ninja Throwdown.
The mastermind behind the course, Delano Hinds and business partner Alwyn Kirk talked us through their idea for the fantastic event while letting us have a try on ObstaclePro246.
The obstacle course proves to be challenging as it targets muscles not necessarily trained while building teamwork and camaraderie. 

 ObstaclePro246 is open to training sessions or events such as birthday parties and corporate exercises. Give it a shot and let us know if you could be the next Barbados Ninja!
