U of T Spotlight is an initiative to enhance the engagement of students from all three campuses in theatre activities outside of the classroom.
The Workshops Series is designed to facilitate an intimate environment where students from any level of experience can learn theatrical skills from a leader’s experience.
Please note: U of T Spotlight Workshops are only open to currently enrolled U of T students.
Stage Combat Workshop
When: November 19, 2017, 1-4 pm
Where: Activities Room, Hart House
Facilitator: Nate Bitton
About: A general overview of Stage Combat exercises from Toronto’s own Nate Bitton, an experienced Fight/Movement Director, Actor, and Theatre Creator. This workshop will include hand-to-hand combat, review of fight safety, and more. Participants of all levels are welcome, and are encouraged to bring water and wear comfortable clothes they are able to move in. More info. and links to register

Stage Management 1
When: November 21, 2017, 7-9:30 pm
Where: Administrative Offices, Hart House Theatre
Facilitator: A professional stage manager
About: Stage Management 1 will include a general overview of stage management skills and practices. It will explore book work protocols on festival-type shows, accepted professional SM practices, and give participants of all experience ranges, the tools to take on an SM role in future. Participants possess any level of experience, but the facilitator has requested that they disclose their interest focus and level of experience when they register so that he may tailor the workshop to that need.
