THE SEASON OF GIVING HAS BEGUN

As we count our blessings, Freedom House is grateful for your commitment to bring hope, restoration and a new life to human-trafficking survivors who are being rescued in our own backyard. Through your generous contributions, healthy food, warm clothing, safe housing, therapeutic counseling, educational opportunities and career guidance are being provided to the survivors at The Monarch.

We count on your financial support to meet their needs as these survivors strive to become independent and self-sufficient. Program participants study to receive their high school diplomas, GEDs, AA degrees, vocational school certificates and licenses to achieve their individual goals and pursue employment.

Join this year's Holiday Giving Campaign, with a goal to raise more than $190,000 between now and January 15. Please contribute a monthly or onetime gift through our secure online payment system at www.FreedomHouseSF.org/Donate or mail you check to P.O. Box 2065, Burlingame, CA 94011. Freedom House is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which allows your gifts to be tax deductible.

During the holidays, we encourage you to share with your friends and family how human trafficking exists in the United States and ways they can help build awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against modernĀ-day slavery...one human being at a time.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Selina (Dasol) KIm

Selina is a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose who enjoys Japanese flower arranging, neuroscience, and advocacy. She joined the fight against human trafficking in her freshman year, when she went to Sacramento to lobby state legislators for passage of anti-human-trafficking bills with the Mitty Advocacy Project. She also plans to go to Washington, D.C. to talk to California senators and members of Congress. Human trafficking became personal to her last year when her favorite restaurant in the South Bay was closed after it was revealed that its workers were being labor-trafficked. As a Freedom House Advocate Volunteer, Selina has participated in a panel discussion in Modesto, coordinated an upcoming awareness event at her school, and assisted during the annual Gala. Her most interesting experience was tabling at a conference, which unexpectedly became a bi-lingual discussion. She was very thankful for her Spanish teachers at school. When she turns 18, one of her primary goals is to become a Shelter Volunteer at The Monarch. Selina is an inspiration to high school and college students who are becoming abolitionists.
