Mark Your Calendar for 2017 ADDA Drug Discovery Symposium
This annual symposium, cohosted by CCTS and other Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance members, will take place Thur., Oct. 26. Topics include antiviral drug discovery, including small molecule high throughput screening for antiviral therapies, epigenetic modulators in hematological malignancies, and TXNIP inhibitors for diabetes therapy. Pfizer's CTI program pairs NIH researchers with Pfizer resources to pursue scientific and medical advances through joint therapeutic development. Goals include identifying biologic compounds with activity in a pathway or target of interest to both an NIH intramural researcher and to Pfizer, and moving the compounds into the clinic to test them.

The Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) hubs promote advances in translational research and training at participating medical research institutions. This funding opportunity will enable innovative collaborations among CTSA hubs to overcome system-wide barriers to translational effectiveness.
