Denice Bautista

Originally from the Philippines, Denice Bautista moved with his family to South Hill, VA when he was fifteen years old.  After graduating from Park View High School, Denice continued studies he had begun at Southside Virginia Community College while still a high school student in the dual enrollment program.

Denice earned his Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from SVCC and transferred to Longwood University, where he completed a bachelor's degree in Nursing.  He worked as a staff nurse at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA before his current employment at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System - Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill as a staff Registered Nurse and preceptor for new-hire Registered Nurses.

A consummate student who speaks three languages, Denice has plans to further his education by earning a master's degree in Nursing.

Reflecting on his experiences at SVCC Denice says, "Success is not simply an endpoint, but also an on-going process to continue achieving to the best of your abilities. I have been blessed to be where I am today, and it started with my time at SVCC. The college truly lives up to its motto 'Success Starts Here.' Here, there is potential in everyone. Everyone genuinely cares about you, your dreams, and where you are headed. All of the professors and staff show it every day, to every single student."
