Dear (Contact First Name),
Welcome to the 2017 - 2018 school year!
During the past few weeks, our teachers and staff members have been busy preparing classrooms, students were welcomed back and a new routine has been set in motion. Click here to view back to school photos. We look to the new year with a great sense of excitement and can't wait to share all our success stories in upcoming e newsletters. We also are thrilled to announce the creation of a new Keeneyville District Twitter feed and a revitalized Keeneyville Facebook page . In addition, monthly Board of Education meetings are now being videotaped and will be posted to the Keeneyville website . All in an effort to provide ongoing communication between our District, home and community.
But we are most excited to be rolling out our 1:1 Chromebook initiative this week for all second through eighth grade students. As part of the Keeneyville School District 100 Board of Education's Strategic Plan, the District allocated funds to purchase Chromebooks so students would have daily access to a laptop computer. This is one year ahead of schedule!
We are very relived to report that a school funding bill was signed into law and State funds budgeted for education will begin flowing to school districts. Please click here to read more about the Evidence Based Funding Model and what it means for District 20. In the here and now, we are funded, and there are great sighs of relief.
I
n October, Keeneyville Elementary School District 20 will celebrate its 120th anniversary. We plan to celebrate throughout this school year so stayed tuned for details.
In closing, I wish you all a great year ahead!
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Connolly
Superintendent
