Westminster Calvary does not take a formal offering, but we do recognize that giving is a New Testament responsibility of every believer
. Christians are called to enjoy surrendered hearts of giving and according to (2 Corinthians 8:8 & 24) giving is a test or proof of sincere love.
Here are a few general guidelines seen in scripture to help you grow in your walk with Jesus.
#1 - The Heart of Giving:
(2 Corinthians 9:7) God loves cheerful giver.
(Mark 12:41-44) New Testament giving commended by Jesus.
(Luke 16:10-13) Use of money reveals the heart.
#2 - The Timing and Proportion of Giving:
(1 Corinthians 16:1-2) Giving is a regular weekly event.
(2 Corinthians 8:12-14) Giving is in direct proportion to income.
(2 Corinthians 9:5-6) Giving is prepared in advance and should be generous.
#3 - The Grace of Giving:
(2 Corinthians 8:7) Giving is a Christians grace to abound in.
(Malachi 3:8-11) Malachi said Gods people took advantage of God by not being mindful of this.
(Matthew 23:23) Jesus does mention tithing in the New Testament, not as a law, but a willing heart to do God's will.
