Thank you for you support of NAMIJC.  We are excited to announce a new to NAMIJC fundraiser. Coming up Thursday, September 14th we are hosting an Enchilada Dinner.  Order you meals today!

 --NAMI Support Groups--

Every Tuesday - 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  (September 12th) -  Connection Support Group meets at R Place (10 E. Benton Street). 
The Connection support group is facilitated by individuals living with a mental illness who are trained in facilitating support meetings, but are NOT professional counselors.  The meetings are open to all individuals who have a mental illness.

Every Thursday - 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (September 14th) Family Support Group meets at NAMIJC office (1105 Gilbert Ct. Suite 200).
The family support group is facilitated by family members, who are trained in facilitating support meetings, but are NOT professional counselors. The meetings are open to all families who are concerned about a family member who is experiencing mental illness. 
 
Second Thursday each month - 9:00 a.m.  (September 14th) - NAMI Family Breakfast for breakfast and conversation.  
meets at Midtown Family Restaurant II (1069 Highway 1 West).

Second Monday each month - 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (cancelled) - NAMI WORKS meets at the NAMIJC Office (1105 Gilbert Court, Suite 200).
This support group is for individuals living with a mental illness and employed in the community.  Topics covered will be driven by the group but may include your struggles and successes of living with a mental illness, legal rights as an employee, how and when to talk to your employer and co-workers about mental illness, how to deal with difficult days, whether at work or at home and everyday coping skills.

Enchilada Dinner-To-Go
 
When:  September 14th 3pm-6:30pm
 
Where:  Zion Lutheran, 310 N Johnson St 
 
(Meals are packaged for pick-up or large quantity delivery)
 
Cost: $15.00 per meal 
 
Enjoy a delicious enchilada dinner while supporting people who are experiencing mental illness in Johnson County! The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Johnson County will be providing homemade enchilada dinners to members of Iowa City/Coralville community.
 
Dinner includes the following: Two Enchiladas (Beef or Vegetarian), Rice and Beans, Salad (with ranch on the side) and a homemade dessert bar.  Meals will be packaged for pickup or delivery at Zion Lutheran, 310 N Johnson St .

Conference Audience and Objectives:
The 2017 Mental Health Conference is designed for professionals, clinicians, administrators, educators, consumers, family members, advocates, and other providers.  
. Provide an educational opportunity to hear professionals and experts share the most recent trends and issues, treatment methods, and research relating to mental health, mental illness, and co-occurring disorders.
. Provide a forum to stimulate discussion, exchange ideas, and strengthen the support and information network around the state.
. Generate public interest in issues relating to mental health and co-occurring disorders.
