9th Annual 'Light the Sky' Fundraiser
'Tis the Season to Remember Your Beloved 4-Legged Friends!

Dear Friends

Is there an animal in your life who holds a treasured place in your heart? Maybe a dog or cat who gave you and your family years of joy ... and who has now passed on? Or perhaps a cherished pet who is still with you today ... giving you boundless affection and unconditional love?

Please take a moment right now to honor and remember the special pets in your life... and Light the Sky with a candle in each of their names. Just register using the button below - order your candle(s), and be sure to share your personal story (and photo) about each pet you would like to remember.

Then, on the evening of Saturday, December 2nd, we will proudly light a Candle of Remembrance for each of your pets ... and display their stories and photos on our Tree of Hope.

Our goal is to have more than 3,000 candles aflame - filling the night sky with the light of hope for your beloved animals ... and for all the abused animals in the world who are starved of the caring and affection that your loyal pets are so blessed to receive.

We only request that you make a small $10 donation for each candle you ask us to light.  And in  thanks for your gift of $250 or more, you'll receive a photograph of your pet's story displayed on our Tree of Hope along with a personal note of thanks from our investigators and a limited-edition Animals' Angels key chain.

One-hundred percent of your donation will be used to help us investigate and expose animal abuse and neglect in 2018. And for every candle that you light, we will light another - to remember the horses and puppies and cows and goats whose abuse we have seen. And to celebrate the lives of those we were able to save.

I will personally be lighting a candle this year for a pig I found at the New Holland Sales Stables in Pennsylvania - my heart still hurts when I think of the suffering she must have endured. My team and I have investigated New Holland for some time now and have witnessed countless occurrences of animal cruelty and neglect at this sale ... however, as tragic as those incidents were, they were nothing compared to the heartbreaking scene that confronted me on this one occasion.

I close my eyes and I'm still haunted by the memory of this intelligent, affectionate animal - this sentient being - left to die among the bodies of ten other dead pigs. This poor creature was literally drowning in what was basically liquid manure. With every weak breath she took, she inhaled this disgusting muck, and it was obvious to everyone who saw her that she was suffering horribly.

No-one, but no-one, at the auction cared about this pig's plight. They simply ignored her. I took the only action open to me to ease her torment - I contacted police who forced the auction to euthanize her ... finally giving her a release from the misery and pain.

Our evidence secured animal cruelty charges and a conviction against an employee of the auction - but this incident is a stark reminder that our work in the field is needed more than ever. And her memory spurs me to action. We must do more! And with your help, we can.

You're lucky not to have to witness countless examples of animal cruelty like this as we do every day. But I hope you are comforted knowing that - with your heartfelt support - we are taking action and getting results as we work to STOP these horrific practices and bring the abusers to justice, once and for all!

So, as we enter a season of hope and miracles, please join with us in this bittersweet moment: to remember the wonderful animals in our lives ... and the not-so-fortunate who count on our help to survive. Each candle will fill the night sky with the light of hope ... and your donation will help bring that hope to life.

On behalf of the animals, thank you - from the bottom of my heart,
Sonja Meadows, President and Lead Investigator
