Greetings!

As you return to campus, the Office of Student Financial Assistance and Employment (OSFAE) is here to assist those students affected by Hurricane Irma. We are reaching out to let you know that, if you incurred evacuation expenses, you may be eligible for assistance.  Funding is limited and will be awarded to eligible students based on available resources and need.

Allowable expenses that may be covered by financial aid are transportation-, lodging-, and meal-related expenses as a result of Hurricane Irma. To qualify for additional assistance you must:

  • provide proof of payment that the costs were incurred during the period the University was closed due to the hurricane

The link below will allow you to submit this request for review as well as the supporting documentation for these expenses. All requests must be received prior to October 6, 2017 .

Please note that assistance cannot be provided for the cost of repairs or the replacement of your or your family’s home, car, or other personal property that may have been lost due to the hurricane.

As a ’Cane, please know that you have an entire community here to support you. If you have any questions about whether you may be eligible for additional assistance, please contact our office to speak with a financial aid advisor.

Sincerely,
Raymond Nault
