Pulls into Kelsey Theater for a fast paced romp
|
Join us in January for a zany romp through the world of theatrical producing.
Bankrupt, with his career on a downslide, egomaniacal Broadway director Oscar Jaffe boards the Twentieth Century Limited and encounters his former discovery and ex-chorus girl Lily Garland, now a temperamental Hollywood star. He pulls out all the stops in persuading her to return to Broadway in his upcoming show.
Best known as a movie with John Barrymore an Carole Lombard in 1934,
Alec Baldwin and Anne Heche starred on Broadway in this hilarious 2004 version by Ken Ludwig.
This adaptation is fresh and accessible. while maintaining the zany, madcap style of the thirties.
"A thrilling funhouse ride!" - The New Yorker
"A Hoot!" - The Wall Street Journal
"A breathless joyride! Hysterical, madcap mayhem!" - NY1
"Makes you fall in love with the theater all over again!...A really good time!" - Journal News
