TNG Building
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Halloween is coming this month as it is that scary forth quarter. It is fine as we look this as our biggest quarter ever. Seems like a lot of companies are building up with projects of all sorts. It's a very exciting time.  Enjoy the month and give so little goblins a special treat before they show you a trick.

At TNG, we are developing more techniques in relation to 3D scanning to give you better models. We are getting deeper into developing cars and products to expand our markets with our high-tech scanners, skilled modelers, and our mobility.  We are always researching new technology and software to keep the quality of our service at the highest level, and to accelerate our pipeline. We do our best to provide a great product to our customers.

We continue our search for partners who are synergistic to our service. Together we can help our customers save more while using better products.

What brings out your best Character?

Your best character is built with knowing your needs or just replicating a person acting as the character that you need, with all your skill and devotion to your art.
Unfortunately our artist's in this time and age working on Films , TV Series, Commercials , Games or other forms of media to take the time to perfect the characters is over for the most  part.
This Dictates the necessity to bring in technology to help those laborious hours of love for the sake of competing in the market to get new entertainment out faster.

There are schedules, time tables, and the next group that needs the model on time to do their work to stay on time and on budget. This is beginning to sound like a production line and it is, we just call it a pipeline of tasks. This is business and we need to cover all the aspects needed by production, leave a little buffer of time, work with a little automation and make sure all is QC'd and then another beautiful model is born. Perhaps in this case, a virtual human, digital double or cyber character, whatever you call them.

Good luck in your projects and remember that the next Character you put out, they are a part of you or your company so put some love in it to make sure it is the best work you ever done every time.

Technology
Build with Technology, but how to decide?
More and more choices are coming at us all in technology. We are being inundated with which to go with to help us get our job done better. To increase out time to either do more or enjoy life more. Cell phones are a great example, you have Apple with great phones at high prices but that technology comes with a price. Samsung is also doing great with their Android product. Plus, there must be 50 other  vendor's  swimming between them.

In 3D Scanning we see the same thing in selecting the type, models and level of service we would like to provide. The choices are not easy. There are so many variables to deal with, like how long have they been in the market? What is their reputation with their customers? Do
they meet the needs of my customers looking for a fast and reliable data set to stay on schedule and on budget? What happens if it breaks in the field? do we have backups? Can we fix it?
Lots to think about and plan about.

This company thinks the focus of your thought process should be on your Projects/Customers and your resources. The Tech needs to serve the needs of the projects you work on, the prices they are willing to pay and the speed of delivery. The Tech must produce models to give your artist's minimum time to clean them up and polish them to provide a final product that the customer not only agrees to pay for but will also thank you for your work when paying you. This is what we call a win win scenario. It also leads to repeat business and a great relationship.

So  pick your tool (Tech) with the utmost care and those tools will serve you and your Projects/ Customers well.
Virtual Reality
VR is an intoxicating futuristic technology that appears to still be in its growing stages so full on consumer adoption has some years to go. Last year around this time, Sony debuted the PSVR (Playstation Virtual Reality), and it has taken over the market of HMDs, beating out HTC Vive and the Occulus Rift. This is largely due to the millions of PS 4's (Playstation 4) on the market already, whereas if you want to purchase HTC Vive or the Occulus Rift
, you will need a computer powerful enough to run it.

Setting up an environment for VR is still not as convenient as we'd want. The camera positions must be very precise for optimal tracking, there must be no obstacles within a few feet to be safe. The camera has to be able to see the lights on the VR helmet. Once you're in VR, you will find it neigh impossible to eat or drink. You have to tilt your head back so far, the helmet starts awkardly sliding off your head. There are still many wires, and if the wires get tugged, you can lose the HDMI connection instantly in the middle of whatever VR experience you had going.

A year later after launch, I think there's a genuine surprise at the lack of depth in the games that are available. When a new gaming platform comes along, a killer app is required to gain sales, and keep gamers happy and occupied, but it simply hasn't happened for the VR gaming community yet. Part of the reason is that it's hard to justify a large budget for a VR game when there are simply more players on non-VR gaming systems. Why produce for the 5-10% when you can produce fo the 90-95%?

I suppose the answer to that is the notion of investing into a greater technology that will surely surround as everywhere in the future. It really seems it's only a matter of time before VR, AR, MR, and 360 video is going to be in all media. Currently though, the expensive price of the actual VR hardware is keeping the mainstream casual audience away. Early adopters have to pay a high cost, and even then it's quite obvious that we've dipped our toes into the VR pool too early.

I have no doubt Virtual Reality
will be in all of our worlds, but for now we're hitting many speed bumps, and we can only look to the great hourglass of time. Two exciting upcoming titles for VR are Skyrim and Doom. Both are games that have already come out, but the VR editions should bolster VR enthusiasm.
