Fall blessings friends!  Another month has gone by and we can now look ahead to October!  With school back into full swing, football and fall sporting activities well under way, and your pumpkin picking and fall planting going on now - Haygood looks forward to being a part of your Fall plans.  While last month was packed with special worship services, the kids singing in worship, youth activities resuming, retreats for our 4th and 5th graders, and a Rise Against Hunger packing event that made enough meals to feed over 120,000 people in need - October's schedule will no doubt be just as busy and fun!

We have a number of way for us to come together in October and we hope to see you at many, if not all, of the activities.

Friends, this is just the beginning of the great things we have planned at Haygood!  The fun and activities are jammed packed on the calendar!  We look forward to being together with you over the month of October in worship, at volunteer opportunities, at Wednesday Night Suppers, and more.  The details of all these activities and more are detailed in this newsletter.

If you are traveling over the Fall Break, please travel safe and have fun!  We would love to share any pictures or stories you have from your Fall Break events.  Be sure to share those with us and we can highlight those in future communications.

We hope this October and Fall is filled with blessings for you and may we all continue to be a light of peace and love to others as we connect, explore, and make an impact with each of you and the community!  Blessings friends!

Ministering to Families Facing Alzheimer's
and Related Dementias Workshop

Every 66 seconds another person is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and must have care.  Another family is thrown into chaos having been given little or no instruction in providing that care.  Today, four out of five of those families fracture under the stress of caring for a family member who lives with Alzheimer's or related dementias.  How do you minister to these families?

Join Due West UMC, in Marietta, GA for a free workshop on October 12 th , from 9:00am-12:00pm, on this important topic.  There will be guest speakers to educate attendees on thi subject.  For more information or to carpool from Haygood UMC at 8:00am, on October 12 th , please contact Wally Rice at 404-277-4588.

Baby Boomers Ministry Survey
We Want to Hear from You!

Friends,  we are trying to gauge interest in a Baby Boomers ministry here at Haygood UMC.  This would give adults the opportunity to spend time together at various venues and events such as dinners, museum visits, and other social outings.

We feel this will be a great way for our Baby Boomers crowd to interact with one another and engage in our community.  Please find a survey to fill out or visit www.haygoodumc.org and click the Baby Boomers survey banner to take the very short online survey.  It should take no more than 2 minutes.  We look forward to seeing what you have to say.  For more information, please contact Ashley Brookins.
