National Disaster Resilience Conference
All NERC members are invited and encouraged to attend the 2017 National Disaster Resilience Conference (NDRC) in Atlanta where Dr. Thomas Pratt of USGS will present as part of the "Big Science" panel, and Mark Benthien will lead an earthquake breakout session.
The NDRC will bring together
the latest in science, policy, and practice to create disaster-resilient communities. Leaders from FLASH Legacy Partners BASF Corporation, DHS, FEMA, Simpson Strong-Tie, State Farm Insurance Companies, and USAA along with the American Institute of Architects, AIR Worldwide, Government Accountability Office, MIT, and The Weather Channel will contribute to the dynamic program.
"We are bringing together some of the best minds in our movement at this critical time to rethink the way we approach disasters in the United States," said FLASH President and CEO Leslie Chapman-Henderson. "Together, we must identify ways to overcome these extraordinary challenges and profoundly improve disaster outcomes. At the end of the conference, we will outline a statement of priorities to mitigate the deaths, injuries, and destruction unfolding all too often in communities across the country."
