Awards & Appointments
Michael Fullan, former OISE Dean, receives InspirED award at Spring Reunion

Dr. Fullan was presented with the 2017 InspirED award for his impactful contributions to the education sector that have influenced the lives of others in a positive way.
 
 
Order of Canada awarded to OISE alumna Cathy Crowe, a.k.a. street nurse

Cathy Crowe's appointment is the result of lifelong advocacy for marginalized and vulnerable people through her work in public health, education, writing and film.



OISE Alumna Dionne Brand, a poet, writer, filmmaker, and activist has also secured the Order of Canada for her many contributions to Canadian literature and poetry, as well as promoting awareness of gender studies and intercultural relations.
 
 
Former SSHRC President and
OISE Alum Chad Gaffield also received the Order of Canada for his leadership in interdisciplinary and multi-institutional collaboration as a historian and administrator, and for his pioneering work in the digital humanities. 




OISE Alum Michael Owen has been appointed as Brock University's new Dean of Education. 
 
 
OISE Alumna Lesleigh Dye is the new Director of Education for District School Board Ontario North East.
