Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.   Acts 4:32

My dear Sisters and Brothers,

I would like to thank you for your faithfulness to this Diocese; my gratitude is profound. As your Bishop, one of my commitments is to create opportunities for you to have periods of rest, community, spiritual nourishment, fellowship, and prayer. Our time together is also part of our ordination vows to take part in the Councils of the Church.

With this in mind, I would like to invite you to join me at the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania's Annual Clergy Conference at the Grand Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey. Our time together will feature the Right Reverend Frank T. Griswold, the former Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. As a contemplative who has reflected deeply on the nature of ordained ministry, Bishop Griswold has a unique perspective on its joys and challenges. At this conference, he will explore how, in the midst our complicated lives, we can remain deeply rooted in communion with the one whose ministry we have been called to share.

This year, the Conference will begin with dinner on the evening of Monday, November 27th and conclude on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 29th. The fee for this year's conference is $185, which includes gratuity for the hotel staff. Scholarships will be available upon request. Lodging is free for spouses and partners, and an optional meal plan will be available for spouses and partners. Childcare is available. Please let us know if you are interested in programming for children.

Please register by November 1st at https://diopa.wufoo.com/forms/clergy-conference-2017/. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact David Romanik at the Church of the Redeemer ( [email protected]). Please let me know if you are unable to attend. I hope to see you in Cape May. Until then, know you are valued and loved.

In Jesus Christ,

The Rt. Rev. Daniel G. P. GutieĢrrez
XVI Bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
