DON'T MISS THE FUTURE SUMMIT AT HCC!
October 20, 2017
We're planning a bright future for HCC, and we have an outstanding group of speakers coming to spark our conversation, including:

Teaching and Learning of the Future
Thomas Kling, Ph.D, Bridgewater State University professor of physics

Kling's work in promoting student success in science and math has led him to examine student success broadly at Bridgewater. He has led the university's Holistic Advising Task Force, served as Faculty Fellow for Student Success in Academic Affairs, and held two $1 million grants from the National Science Foundation to promote institutional change and student success in STEM fields.

Connecting E ducation and Work to the Future
Katie Stebbins, University of Massachusetts vice president for economic development

The former assistant secretary for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Stebbins now oversees the Office of Technology and Commercial Ventures (OCTV) and the UMass Donahue Institute, an economic development consulting arm of the University. She has been a member of the HCC Board of Trustees since 2016.

Sustainable Food Security in our Future
Andrew Morehouse, executive director of the Western Mass Food Bank

Morehouse has devoted his entire professional career to the non-profit sector and, specifically, to social and economic justice issues. Prior to The Food Bank, he was the founding director for ten years of a community development corporation devoted to asset-building strategies of, for, and by low-income residents in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Breakout Sessions
Inspired by our speakers, we'll go into breakout sessions to share our ideas and develop priorities for the future of HCC.
