North Region Family Engagement Night a Huge Success!

The School District of Palm Beach County is committed to engaging parents and the community as equal partners to assist with empowering each student to reach his or her highest potential.  To strengthen this commitment, the Departments of Federal and State Programs and Multicultural hosted a North Region Family Engagement Night at Northboro Elementary on October 5, 2017. See My Success - Dreyfoos School of the Arts Senior Hits All the Right Notes on Campus and in the Community
Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts senior Bernardo Hasbach is a talented pianist who boasts a 3.97 GPA and 5.0 HPA.
 
"I do take a lot of pride in how much work I put into school, because I really want to do the best that I can," he says.
 
In addition to his academic studies and knack for the piano, Hasbach is the co-founder of a unique non-profit organization. He started the " School Lunch Fairy" program with a friend in an effort to help less fortunate students be able to pay for their school lunches.  Read more...
#ThankAPrincipal Spotlight: Melinda Springman, South Olive Elementary

In honor of National Principals Month, we're shining the spotlight on our fearless school leaders!

Today's Principal in the Spotlight is Melinda Springman of South Olive Elementary School. Ms. Springman is a homegrown talent, having attended Jupiter Elementary, Jerry Thomas Elementary, Jupiter Middle, Jupiter High and Lake Worth High. She was a member of the Trojan Generation Show Choir at Lake Worth High before moving on to the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelor's and Masters degrees.  

Mrs. Springman has also lived in Georgia, where she earned her Specialist degree from Georgia State University and served as a teacher and school leader for the Fulton County School System. We're glad to have Ms. Springman back in Palm Beach County as the principal of South Olive Elementary!
