Fall into fabulous WIDN programming
  

What a wonderful way to kick off the WIDN program year with #ILGive and Giving Tuesday presentation.  If you weren't able to attend the meeting, please check WIDN's website for the slides from the talk.
 
October's program's topic will be how to create a successful fundraising board.  I know this is a struggle for many of us, including me.  I look forward to learning more about new strategies to keep my board engaged and energized with fundraising.

The October Program is Sure to Fire Up Your Board

Learn how to partner with your board of directors to build a corps of strong Board fundraisers with this interactive presentation. Learn key strategies for improving your Board's involvement in fundraising. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your Board President or a key Board Member as a guest and get them excited about building an effective team.

Laura Kaufman has run foundations and non-profit organizations for 30+ years.  She is the CEO and Principal Consultant of Partners in Effective Philanthropy.  The firm helps nonprofits craft effective strategies for raising the funds they need and creating the change they desire.  Since opening in 2008, Partners in Effective Philanthropy has worked with over 50 local and national non-profit organizations.

Development Day Chicago 2017

In case you had not heard, AFP Chicago is re-imagining the Midwest Conference on Philanthropy as Development Day Chicago. Development Day Chicago will be on October 3  at the Sheraton Grand Chicago and is presented in partnership with Kellogg School of Management.
 
Development Day Chicago 2017  is AFP Chicago's newest take on day-long education and networking for fundraisers of all levels from diverse backgrounds. Over the decades, AFP Chicago has observed and responded to the shift in how people learn; how people want to meet and mingle with each other; and how the landscape of philanthropy continues to shift. Development Day Chicago replaces the former Midwest Conference on Philanthropy with a refreshed format that's interactive and full of time to learn from experts while sharing ideas with your fellow fundraisers.
 
Development Day Chicago 2017 invites hundreds of fundraisers to the Sheraton Grand Chicago for a full day of creative sessions under the theme of the Changing Lenses of Philanthropy. We'll offer four different tracks - or focuses -  for learning, Get the Gift, Lead the Gift, Connected Fundraising, and Fundraising by Segment. Each focus will offer three sessions throughout the day and each area has at least one advanced level session to engage fundraisers at the executive end of the spectrum. There are plenty of offerings for those of us in the mid-range of our careers to those who are relatively new to the profession.
