Annual Report Update
Staff Contact: Lynn Caruthers, lynn@coaemsp.org

Good news!  From time-to-time when you visit a website you see a ‘this site is under construction’ notice. For the 2017 annual reporting year, you will soon see a ‘this report is under construction’ notice. As mentioned in a previous update, the CoAEMSP has decided to take a different approach to the annual reporting and monitoring of outcomes. As the CoAEMSP continues to strive to become more outcomes oriented in its approach to EMS education, the evaluation of identified outcomes measures becomes increasingly important.

Webinar: Resource Assessment & Evaluation Processes
Monday, November 20 @ 1-2 p.m. Central

Accreditation is outcomes based. So how do we measure our outcomes? This webinar will review the various evaluation processes required, tools available, and how to use them. The tools include the recently revised Graduate and Employer surveys, Student and Faculty Resource assessments, and the Resource Assessment Matrix (RAM). Other best practices in program evaluation will also be discussed.

Registration for the webinar is limited to 500 attendees. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Late Submissions of Progress Reports
The number of programs that do not submit a Progress Report on time seems to increase for every board meeting. For the August 2017 meeting, 58% of the programs submitted after the June 1 deadline, which put time constraints on the volunteer board and pressure on the system to review the programs’ progress reports in a timely manner.

Programs are notified well in advance of when they have a progress report due and with the most recent deadline, the CoAEMSP staff implemented a new step: reminding programs 30 days in advance that they have a progress report due.

For programs that submit their Progress Report after the deadline, there will be a $500 Late Fee assessed. This fee goes into effect January 1, 2018.

Thank you for your cooperation.
New Strategic Plan Approved
Setting strategic direction is an important board responsibility. The CoAEMSP Board’s fiduciary duties require it to protect the financial health of the organization, ensure quality service to its stakeholders, ensure competent and effective management, maintain effective governance and advocate for community and organizational health. In order to effectively carry out these responsibilities, there must be alignment among all of an organization’s stakeholders regarding its mission and purpose, vision for the future, core values and strategic goals. The board has the primary responsibility for providing the leadership necessary to achieving an aligned culture and effective organization.
