At HERO House, they welcome members who are recovering from mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar and schizophrenia - and help them rejoin their communities. Donate online or at Friday night or Saturday morning services.

Torah Study this week will cover Bereshit.

A Simchat Torah Program will follow Torah Study.  All are welcome to attend.
This week with Rabbi Kinberg

Celebrate the Torah!
This Shabbat we will be celebrating our sacred text and the cycle of reading from Genesis to Deuteronomy. We will unroll the entire scroll and see the ancient words all around us. It is our life and length of our days. It is at the core of our tradition. All Jewish life stems from Torah. We will sing and dance with the scroll. We will celebrate another year of study and contemplation.

Our community is dedicated to the study of Torah. Every Shabbat Morning at 9am we gather with the text and dive in. Join us. Give it a try if this type of adult learning is new to you.

Blessings,
Rabbi Kinberg

Simchat Torah Meditation: Waves of Torah

By Devon Spier
I saw the ocean unfolding.
But really it was Torah.
Its pages going on forever.
And the weight of its history like the finality of its black ink.
Darkly, pulling me under.
But there in the sea of story,
I found light in the spaces between the letters
And in the blank parchment, I swear, I could hear our ancestors breathing with me.
Parting the waters through their exhale
Extending the scroll through the letters they took in at the mouth.
I saw the Torah unfolding.
But really it was the ocean made by each of us.
Carrying the scroll through the waves of our breathing.
